Old GoPets Posts

I confess, sometimes if I see a post that I like, I'll copy and paste it somewhere to save it. I am going through my Google Notebook where I came across a letter that twistic's pets would have written in order to get their owner to return to GoPets (after a long hiatus):

Cute idea! Though a letter from my pets would me more like this-

What the heck is wrong with you? You haven't been on in a month. Do you know what it's like to scavenge food from other people's desktops for a month? We don't think so. Is this the way you get your sick kicks? By creating us adorable creatures and then letting us rot in a poorly decorated desktop while starvation consumes our poor, adorable bellies? We're already drawing straws on who gets to eat Malice's spring butterfly. And we're so bored that we emptied out your IKU box for you, just for something to do. Not that there was much in there, you freakin' hermit. It's also January, and we can't even get into our Haunted House without you. So cold... so hungry... why....?

I'm more of an image saver. I love to save graphics images. Also I saved some links to a few how-to threads but I can't get to them anymore because I only saved the links, not the text.

It would have been nice if the forum could have been offloaded and archived somewhere for players to look at later.

OMG - that post is a riot.

Yes, isn't it? That's why I loved it so much I had saved it somewhere. I think I might have some more posts squirreled away - or maybe not. Like Gankaku, I mostly saved images. They were so much easier to save away than copy/pasting a favorite post.

I think the easiest way would be to zip them all into one file and torrent them.

If you don't know how to do that, I can explain! Later, though.

Or zip them and upload them to megaupload would probably work too, I'm sure.

Has anyone tried archive.org or other similar types of sites? I dunno if it'll work, but it's worth a try? ^^;

I'd recommend mediafire for uploads, and if you register, I don't think your files will disappear after a certain amount of time either.

*edit* I used a little add-on in firefox to try to revive the forum, but only the archive.org link got me any results:

Thanks so much for the archive link. It brought back fond memories. It was lovely to see the old GoPets forum again as stripped down though it was.

Yea, true, i still remember most of the members and their posts/events/custom works too. Kinda sucks with the lack of images ^^;

Though I *did* dig through the forums before they closed to grab all the photos I could find of RL GoPets stuff; the vans, the plush, the studio. I think there was a mascot outfit too, rofl XD If you're interested I could just upload them and link them here ^^;

Yeah, that'd be great. I'm sure others who drop by occasionally would love to see them too.

I didn't remember the computer pictures so I was happy to see those. The van was so nicely painted! And I remember waiting and hoping that we'd have baby GoPets soon. *sigh*

You're welcome, no problem :3 Now I'm trying to find some old files to upload and share; I found some cute flash animations that were old cell phone screen savers you could download online.

If only GoPets held out for a couple more years, I remember seeing a GoPony concept art/model somewhere, with all those crazy MLP fans *and* the customizable pet & clothing, it'd've been a big hit I think XD [Gotta see if I saved that pic somewhere or not ^^;]
