Dragon Cave Links and Information (Updated May 26, 2010)

I don't think that the standing one has been discontinued. It is likelier that it has become rarer, something that was noticed some months ago as well.

Lol didn't even notice there was a difference XD I'm still trying to get a boy but my dragons either don't wanna breed or breed the normal ones

M2M i don't know how you do it.Spent 2 h or so in the cave trying to get a 'new' egg but most of the times the cave was blocked or there were only the reg eggs.I did spot the electricty one twice but was too slow as usual lol.

That usually happens with me. I get bored after about 10-15 minutes of refreshing so I end up picking up regular eggs from the AP to fill up my scroll.

Haha i end up with no egs lol.I am the same.It bores me to death that 90% of the time the cave is either blocked or spammed with pink and other 2 types of egs X_x I really get the rare thing but there shloud be a limit.Or at least rotate the reg ones so you won't get blocked cave so often because you can only get 2 types.

New eggs! They might be limited release. Speckled egg: Water x Skywing or Skywing x Deep Sea are confirmed. 

Yeah i saw them.I actually logged in trying to get a normal caveborn to turn into a vampire and saw the new ones.Managed to get some but i still don't get it.Are they limited or something?

Yeah, I know what you mean. But on the other hand, it is kind of fun trying to figure out what he means. I liked reading the speculations from the other users regarding what is necessary to obtain the speckled egg. 
I believe the speckled one is the first 3 hatchling sprites. Someone said that TJ likes to have both male and female and frozen hatchling sprite when a dragon has different sprites for males and females.

Anyone know what the "dove has plans for them" referring to the old pinks means?

No, I have no idea what dove is planning. But then again, when it comes to sprites and surprises with them, the spriters and TJ are really secretive. There is a group of them who chat with TJ over MSN.

I was moving over xmas and missed xmas eggs. I'm pretty peeved about that but I'll get over it

Did anyone manage to breed a speckled? One of TJ's speckled hatchlings grew up. The sprite for the females is so pretty!I wasn't expecting it but I just bred a 2nd speckled which I got to keep. I don't know what I'll end up doing with it since it is not exactly the type of lineage I am interested in. I think I'll hold on to it for a couple of days and if I want to go grab some more CB new ones, I might end up dumping it in the AP for some lucky fellow.

But you need to breed it. The female sprite is really pretty.  

These are the pics I have so far of the 4 new types of dragons. Three types (Canopy, Nocturne, Electric) can be found in the Cave. The 4th kind (Two-Finned Bluna) has to be bred. So far Skywing x Water and Skywing x Deep sea Dragon crosses have produced Two-Finned Bluna eggs.

(Hatchlings and Adults appear different during day/night. Don't know if there is a difference in male/female sprites yet.)

Thanks, m2m. I have to say that I really like the adult sprites for the Bluna. The hatchlings look cute too. The others look pretty neat as well. I can't wait to collect them all. 

I think I had the night/day pics of the Nocturne flipped around so I changed them. I think the greyer-gargoyle type one is the daytime one.

Out of 3 skywings on my scroll and 2 skywings on Maeghan's scroll, (crossed with either water or deep sea) we only got 1 Bluna egg - arghhh. I mean, if you can get up to 4 eggs per cross that's 1 out of a possible 20. Now we have to wait a week to breed again. I'm wondering what the Bluna's will be able to breed with.

Anyone know what's with the Two-Finned Bluna name? There's a Bluna on Neopets:


Bluna is also a German orange soda.

And that's about the extent of my deep research on the subject.

I see I wasn't the only one to think about the Neopets petpet when I see the name Bluna. They've been one of my favorite petpets. 
According to one post, it is derived from blue tuna.

Congrats on the vamp dae! The last one mine bit killed the egg, so I'm waiting for the dead egg to get off my scroll (it's 2 weeks, right?).

I'm glad that they are making the new eggs so easy to get. It's meant much less time sitting and refreshing in the cave.
