Dragon Cave Links and Information (Updated May 26, 2010)

I haven't heared anything from M2M and i am not having any luck still so Miti if you are on i could use your help.I always forget which timezone they are in and i have no idea how long they will still be available since technically VDay is over for me.

Miti - what do you mean by alt valentines?

Last night at the 1am (my time) drop, I caught eggs for myself, richter and others.

Most of the eggs caught in that drop mysteriously disappeared off scrolls, systemwide.

Instead of doing a rollback, TJ replaced peoples missing eggs and made one an Alt as a gift/whoopsie.

Very cool! How do you tell if an egg is an alt? I was getting eggs around that time but I don't know exactly when I got them.

This will be very annoying to people trying to collect all the eggs though - getting a holiday alt will be super, super hard.

m2m, there is no way to tell which is the alt until they're grown

Due to the change in theme, I didn't realize there were new posts here.

I wasn't able to catch the eggs myself. My laptop, internet and reflexes were too slow. My sister caught me two (better laptop and better reflexes). One got lost in the glitch - the one caught in the 1 am drop. She managed to catch me a replacement egg in the 2 am drop. I was a bit chagrined to hear about the alts because I'd already gotten a replacement but I'm cool with it. It was very nice of TJ to do so since I wasn't expecting such a generous response from him.

Those who were not affected by that glitch won't have a chance to get an alt, according to TJ. If you try to trade, the alt Valentine will revert to a normal one.

Also, here's a tip from another player that I saved:

Don't wait for anything to load, messages, etc.--just refresh the cave page with f5 throughout the drop and click on the eggs again and again and again. Do it all as fast as you can. Chances are at the end of the drop, you'll have one. Turn off Java, turn off "load images," and if you can--change page view to "no style" so that the links are stacked instead of side by side. It'll all load faster that way. Just refresh and click again and again without waiting for messages or to see if you got an egg.

Oh i should try that lol considering how slow the cave loads well almost all the time XD

Yeah - I was able to breed my 09 V-Day dragon again yesterday and finally got some eggs. So, I sent the adult off to the wild and kept one adult and one egg so I can freeze it as a hatchling.

I incubated one - and got the black Sweetling. I'm such a fickle being. When I first heard about the alts, I was feeling chagrined because I didn't think I'd get it since my sister had caught me a replacement. But when I saw my hatchling, I have to admit feeling a twinge of disappointment since I was starting to prefer the original. In any event, I like the black Sweetling version as well so I'm fine with it.

I guess I can always pretend my sister's originals (hers did not abandon since she caught them in the first hour; mine were caught in the 2nd hour) are mine as well.

I'm always afraid to incubate my holiday dragons, lol. It would be just my luck if TJ came up with a new message "Your incubated egg has overheated and died."

Anyway, I like the pink one better too (well, at least the hatchling since I don't know what the alt adult looks like yet) so I'm glad that's what I ended up with.

I thought that when TJ replaced the missing VDay eggs he was giving one alt and one regular per scroll, but now I see that if you have an alt then both are alts. Anyway, they are cute as well.

lol, m2m. Thanks for the picture of the Valentine '10 in all its forms. It'd be both dismaying and amusing if TJ did do that. I can just imagine the drama that would cause.

And you're right. This year's Valentines do look more feminine than last year's.

Hmm, I suppose it does. While I am grateful to have it, I think I like the pink Sweetlings better.

lol. Sadly, we can't. Event dragons can't breed with each other and we are all limited to 2 event dragons per holiday.
